Local Color
In the small town where I live, it's not at all uncommon to see someone put out their homegrown goods with a coffee can or cash box on the side of the road for others to shop and pay on their own.
This is one of those roadside stands, and my daughter and I stopped today to pick up some pansies to add a little color by the front door. Other roadside 'businesses' we could expect to see here in town before the year is over include a corn stand, compost stands (yes, compost, as in someone else's organic garbage), a couple of pumpkin wagons, jars of local honey, and even a mini-fridge filled with farm-fresh eggs. There's something so refreshing about seeing the roadside honor system still working in this day and age.
