Polarised Water Droplets

I have to admit this image technique is shamelessly copied from Benelia Photo's. I just fell in love with her image and wanted to give it a try myself. Sorry Benelia. I still think yours is the better image. Here is Benelia's Image The technique is really quite simple two or three drops of water on the back of a CD with a strong light reflecting off the CD to give you polarisation. I used the light from a north facing window. However, it took a hell of a lot of experimentation to get the polarisation right and find what extension tubes I needed on my 100mm macro lens to fit three drops in the image without any of the other bits of the CD intruding. I also had to do a two shot photo-stack in order to get the small drop at the back equally sharp. Definitely worth the effort though.
