Guillemot nursery

We went out on the boat from Staithes yesterday, with Richard from Yorkshire Coast Nature and Sean, who was our skipper, on a roller coaster trip out onto the water.  I’ve chosen this images of the nursery because the adult in the centre has the brindled markings, but the highlight of the day for us was being amid the pod of Bottle-nosed dolphins in Runswick Bay.  They estimated about twenty and several times we watched groups of three animals doing synchronised breaching.  A magical experience and one I only managed to record on my phone as failed to transfer my spare card to the bag I carried - lots of spare batteries and NO card!
