Svartafell 1053m

Svartafell 1053m, 500m ascent, 2 hours 20 mins. We packed the tent in near perfect sunshine, again. We were still a bit tired from climbing Snaefell, but nevertheless were keen to get up high. We cheated a bit, driving up to the ski field at about 500m, so the climb was only just over 500m up. Incredible views down to Rajdarfjordur, and the gigantic Alcoa Aluminium smelter. Also here, looking back to Neskaupstadur where we were camped the night before.
Interestingly we saw a large lady driving a big 4wdr vehicle over the pass below, with her golden Labrador having a great time running over the pass behind her.
We then moved on to the next fjord in Mjordarfjodur, a decent pass road with lots to see. A tiny campsite at Brekka was a lovely place to stay for the night.
