St John the Baptist Church Hellington

Having cycled past this little church on numerous occasions I thought I’d stop and have a look at it today. It is on the very edge of a tiny village, and there is no sign on site giving its name, so I had to look it up when I got home to find out a little more about it.

A rural gem, with a Norman round tower and an unusually elegant 13th-century porch. Inside, evocative little stone heads peer out from the carved stone arches

I didn’t go inside, so I’ll have to stop again some time to have a more detailed look.
