Yellow Hat from Clifden, Connemara
Today's the day ……………………. for pictures in an exhibition
Went to a delightful exhibition in the Harbour Cottage Gallery, Kirkcudbright this afternoon which featured the work of artists John Byrne and Ron Sandford.
It was just a taste of the full exhibition that was planned for The Fine Art Society Gallery in Edinburgh from 19th June - 25th July - until the global pandemic got in the way. You can see an online version of the exhibition here. We are big fans of John Byrne's work, so it was a treat to be able to see some of his original paintings in our local town.
And then we had a wander round the garden at the National Trust for Scotland's Broughton House (see extra). I wrote about it a few weeks back, because it was under threat of closure because of Covid19 cutbacks by the NTS. I'm pleased to say though that - largely because of a successful local campaign - it has had a reprieve. The house and garden will remain open (albeit on a reduced basis with less staff) for the season. So that is great news.
A Sunday afternoon spent doing the sort of things we used to do ………………….!
