Detail

– of Two Ovals (see Extra).  I haven't been out today, grass-cutting and barbeque cleaning duties having intervened, so I feel only a little embarrassment at taking a detail of Henry Moore's work and making it my blip. 

The striations were part of his artistry, it seems.  Perhaps his dislike of "hackneyed forms of classicism" induced him to take the shine off the material.  He hated marble, apparently, until later in life when he revised that dislike.
