An Indoor Day
Today was an indoor day. I'm starting to try out different basic recipes on my new bread maker now I've got white as well as wholemeal flour (no luck on the spelt flour yet), this one is 3 parts wholemeal to 1 part white flour and tasted very nice. I also did a lot of painting of skirting boards and half the door frames in the hall (being a bungalow, that's 5 out of the 9 doorways!).
Day 161 / Full Day 153 of Lockdown / Day 51 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 6 to 41,429 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 1,041 and 834 patients in hospital. Deaths in Mexico pass 60k and in the US pass 180k. New daily cases in India passed 70k yesterday. A PHE study reports that children are more likely to catch coronavirus at home than at school. The CMOs from all UK countries issue a joint statement concluding that the risk of children getting seriously ill from Covid-19 is dwarfed by the 'certainly of long-term harm' for many children if they do not attend school. The WHO & UNICEF advise that children aged 12 and over should wear a mask under the same conditions as adults.
