The Tower
This is The Tower at NT Blickling. It can be rented and per their website 'A holiday at The Tower really is something special. Formerly the Earl of Buckinghamshire’s race stand, this luxurious accommodation now boasts a roof terrace and your very own Rapunzel tower. In keeping with its fine period style, original features such as the large arched windows and quirky spiralling staircase are complimented by an elegant décor.'
This morning G and I met up with JohnRH & W for the long walk around the woods at Blickling. It was a lovely walk with great company. This is a beautiful building and the inside looks great on the website, but although it was a sunny day with fluffy clouds, I thought I'd give it a Gothic look for Mono Monday. This afternoon I mowed the lawn and fed it ready for the rain tomorrow, then planted up a few tubs and baskets.
Day 162 / Full Day 154 of Lockdown / Day 52 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 4 to 41,433 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 853 and 834 patients in hospital. 4,897 new daily cases in France yesterday. In Hong Kong a young, healthy person has been re-infected with Covid 4.5 months after the first infection, the virus strain was different and the person had no symptoms but it was picked up by an airport screening test. Some key workers in China have been given experimental vaccines since July. The US President is making it easier for patients to get convalescent plasma, trials are still on-going in the UK to examine its effectiveness. In Scotland high school pupils are likely to have to wear face coverings in corridors and communal areas, which I think is sensible. I heard this morning that police in Birmingham disrupted more than 70 'unlicensed social gatherings' on Sat night, despite Birmingham being added to a Govt CV watchlist on Fri - difficult to understand how stupid people are at times! KFC suspends its ‘finger lickin’ good’ slogan after 64 years for hygiene reasons during the pandemic. Tesco is creating 16,000 new permanent jobs given the exceptional growth in its online business.
