Faithful One

I keep a written diary as well as Blip, and when I fill one up, I like to go through and record important events in the front. Today I did that for the 12th January to 22nd August one - what an eventful few months!
What struck me is how faithfully God has looked out for us during all the upheaval. Julia and Beth coming for a visit in January, and Paul in February - for what would be the last chance for a long while.
On the 16th February, we re-booked the ferry to be at Julia's hen do (which never happened) - turned out to be the very last ferry to leave Spain, on the 15th March. Leaving Portugal just before the borders closed. Julia and Tom deciding to rearrange their wedding for the 21st, two days before lockdown was announced. The way everyone cooperated to make it a beautiful event, in less than two days.
Ending up living with Deb and family for the three and a half months of lockdown. Quality time with our two grandchildren, being able to homeschool them and help Deb and Sam out. Mike being able to transform their attic into a liveable space so we and others have somewhere to stay.
Being there when Paul and Karis started courting, and getting to know her a bit. Shelagh getting Mike's eye lasered when the retina started detaching. And getting back to Mourão, eventually - and still no cases here. And none of us getting the virus so far, when it seemed so likely at times. And so many other details...
Which gives me hope for the next challenge. Many of you know that Julia is pregnant, and that there is a high chance the Baby is not OK. Many of you are already praying. The third scan is on Friday. We hold on to these three truths and so we trust:
Gratefuls:
- God loves us
- God is absolutely good
- God wants to do good things in our lives
