The local wood co-operative made me a 2.7 metre shelf for the kitchen - supplied the wood (an old scaffolding board), sanded it back and oiled it, all for £20. Great little place. Provides rehab for people and all their timber and screws are reclaimed. They call themselves Useful Wood. Well they wood, woodn’t they ...

Someone we met at the community picnic on Sunday bought us a box of tomatoes from his garden. Really lovely.
