We decided on an evening walk having had our first visit into the town centre since the lockdown earlier in the day . We were impressed with the protocols in place but frustrated to see so many people wearing their masks at half mast ( so many noses on show )

The route of our walk was decided on the basis of getting maximum benefit from the evening sunshine , so welcome after a gloomy day .
However ......... this  grand , beautifully moody cloud settled itself generously over the sun so that we had to rely on memory and imagination!
As we reached the summit of our hill, marked by the Wainright stone we got into a long conversation with a couple of people , father and daughter , which was really interesting and covered a wide range of topics . It took me a while to realise that Dave knew the chap as they are both local councillors of wards in lockdown . As the other chap is also part of the Asian community , who are being hit the hardest in our area , it was really helpful to listen to what he had to say . It also turns out that he suffers from acid reflux which has become a problem for me . His mum makes a special paste from various spices , herbs etc based on tumeric which I have already found helpful. He is going to bring some round for me .
It is so uplifting to have chance encounters that then grow into something bigger .
Earlier in the week I had a chance encounter with a near neighbour and out of it has grown a connection around
Working with children in the outdoors , it’s the second such encounter in the last fortnight.
I would like to think that I shall be involved with some socially useful project/s in the future. For the moment I know that I need to become refreshed as have felt burnt out for quite a few years . I am listening and noticing and at the moment would be reluctant to commit or to do anything that would trap me inside.  I have the dream of something that might be possible but am not yet ready to do much more than put out gentle feelers and listen !
