Uncle Bill

Last month my cousins let us know that the cancer my dear Uncle Bill has been treated for last year had returned. The wound he was left with after an operation in December had become infected and he was in a lot of pain.  He was admitted to hospital and after some gruesome discoveries, treatment and a great deal of pain relief discharged to a care home, where I visited today.

He was very lucid but weak and says he’s waiting now to ‘go’.  He spoke to me about each of his children and grandchildren and how he’s had a really happy life.  

I love Bill very much and it made me cry.
