Fleece

No it’s not a judge’s wig or a triffid, this is 50g of Lincoln Longwool fleece. I finally got around to trying out my new wool combs today as rain set in this afternoon. The splurge of extra photos show you a piece of the original fleece, some staples that I’ve teased out of the matted clump and the desired effect of combing. The fleece has an interesting backstory as it was given to me decades ago in return for a spinning demonstration at Woolsthorpe Manor, birthplace of Isaac Newton, now a National Trust property.

I did also take a break to fit the new rear mudguard on my bike ready for tomorrow (though I really hope the rain stops!).
