Crossley Homes

The Crossley family were immensely influential in the development of Halifax.  They were carpet manufacturers and at one time ran the largest carpet mill in the world.
They were very religious and amongst their many philanthropic gifts to the town were two groups of Almshouses.  This quotation is over one of the entrances - the full quote is. "All things come from thee, O Lord. And of thine own, have we given thee.”
,  The homes were built in 1863 and are still in use today.
