Classic
Saturday
We went to see the Classic car rally which started in Dingwall and travelled via Cromarty to Fortrose.
We were not sure on timings so went to Cromarty first before coming along the water towards Balblair. We saw some coming towards us so went up the hill and found a lay-by near Learnie to park up. We watched the cars go by with the drivers and passengers giving us a wave or a toot on the horn. The one in front was my favourite with a very jolly driver.
We managed to escape a very heavy downpour, I hope the open top cars did too !
We went back to Udale bay. Saw the Osprey fly off in the distance and also the little egret. Plenty of noisy geese and a few red shanks. The oyster catchers were having a nap while the gulls were having a bath.
We drove back to Cromarty as we fancied some soup for lunch, no luck as Sutor Creek was heaving and only one person at a time allowed in and the Church Cafe do not do soup.
So back to Fortrose Cafe and we managed to get a really tasty Mushroom soup :)
Earlier in the day I sat in the garden and was pleased to see the little wren. She likes to sit in the sun too.The long tailed tits have been back as well so the garden is starting to pick up bird wise again :)
