Welcome to the Jungle

Amazing isn’t it, how quickly nature can take over.
We (and by “we” I really mean Mrs C) spent most of the first part of lockdown tending to the garden - weeding, cutting back, planting, etc.
We enjoyed the results of our - sorry, her - labour for a couple of weeks and then somehow, in all the excitement of lockdown easing, we took our eye off the ball.
Mother Nature weighed in with sun and rainfall and - Hey Presto - everything suddenly starts growing out of control at a vast rate of knots. I swear I could actually see the grass growing at times!
Wishing to remain far from the madding crowds in the Lakes this Bank Holiday, it was out to the garden instead armed with fork, spade and shears.
After a few hours, the green bin is almost full, we have been stung and scratched more times than we care to count and there is still only a small piece of cleared ground to show for it.
Maybe a second lockdown is required - if only to give us a chance to get to grips with the luxuriant rain forest that is presently covering half the garden!
