Up And Running

Look what we've got! Delivered this morning two days after ordering from Argos, compared with the month-long wait for a no-show from John Lewis. A different model, of course, but very similar to the old one and it works.

Not so welcome was what I discovered on my knee this morning, which I took to be a scab from an unremembered injury but turned out to be a tick (see extra), possibly sheep/deer tick (Ixodes ricinus). Not large - about 3mm - nor engorged, I am now wondering whether I picked it up on our walk in Pressmennan Wood, where boggy conditions were ideal (we also saw two roe deer). It is now drowning in alcohol but, although more a possibility than probability, I must now watch out for symptoms of Lyme disease.
