Thursday: Cassiar

We left Watson Lake this morning and are now back in British Columbia, heading south on the Stewart Cassiar highway.  We stopped off at Cassiar, an asbestos mining town which was abandoned in 1992.

Dease Lake, our stop for tonight, has some accommodation but very little else.  There is no restaurant so dinner was from a food truck and then taken back to our room.

Extras:
- Travelling onward
- Classy hotel
- Stikine Canyon
- Religion

This afternoon we drove a round trip of 220 km to visit the former Hudson’s Bay trading post of Telegraph Creek.  It’s now a small community of about 250.  The drive there was something else - canyons, ravines, hairpin bends, high roads etc.
