Left behind
All being well with Covid test paperwork and flights that depart as scheduled, Gugs will finally set off for Kenya tomorrow after six months of being stranded in the UK. Although the weather was a damp squib, a few of her Cambridge pals gathered for a drink and some dinner. This was followed by a final session of life admin at the house, covering luggage, bike keys, Covid test kits, bike tools, food stocks, bike lights, a borrowed mattress, and bike accessories. I’m staying on at Heidi’s house as it will be at least a few weeks until there is more clarity on travel procedures for Mozambique. Followed by an additional period of scrambling to comply with the procedures.
How many of these signs both painted and stuck to pavements will linger in the years to come, pointing to the dystopian world of 2020?
