Brolgas

These big birds are Brolgas. They stand about 1 metre tall and are the biggest bird in Aus that flies.

You only usually see them in twos in remote places. Presumably mates! They’re a type of crane, seen mainly in northern Australia.

After seeing this pair, we were stunned the next morning to see a big group of them beside some water near the highway.
