An old gnasher
Today, a dip into my cabinet of treasures old shoe boxes. This is a fossil tooth from Otodus an extinct genus of predatory mackerel sharks which lived from the Paleocene to the Miocene epoc (66-20 million years ago). The fossils of Otodus suggest that the largest species were up to 50 feet in length, three times the length of a modern great white shark!!
