Hawthorn Berries
I couldn't avoid seeing these berries today - the hedgerows seem to be full of them which is good news for the many insects, birds and animals that rely on them. I've read that they're good in jam and wine and apparently increasingly in demand as a component in herbal medicines. Since being a child I've loved the fragrance of the Hawthorn blossom in Spring, but now "Google" has educated me I shall have to give this humble tree even more respect. :-)
It's been a nice restful day, exactly the kind of day we all need from time to time. Many thanks for stopping by, it's very much appreciated.
