Dolly's

We couldn't summon the enthusiasm to go the market, but thought we should stir ourselves in some way. So got the bus through to Stockbridge and had another look at Mellis - and lo! the Dolly pie delivery had arrived and, just as importantly, hadn't sold out yet. DaveH was very relieved to be reunited with his all-time favourite pie.

We walked back along the Water of Leith, admiring all the trimming and tidying that the volunteers have been doing. There was a sizeable young willow detached from the bank beneath the riverside houses in Stockbridge, and the massive pine tree that fell from Warriston cemetery right across the river. As we were contemplating the latter, we were hailed by Arclight and Mr A who had also been in Stockbridge and were trying to walk off the goodies they'd been consuming. We walked back together, at an arms length, as far as theirs and then we picked up a handy 36 the rest of the way home.

We went round to Malc and Syuze's for a meal, arranged before yesterday's appalling news. It was good to talk with them - a bit about my lovely bro, but also lots of other stuff like S's new job. Didn't stay late, though - early night for me.
