Canal bridge
I do love canals and I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps it's the mixture of nature and engineering. I take a similar pleasure in old railway lines and also the wildlife corridors that run along tracks that are still in use.
There's something particularly evocative about the last few miles of the Lancaster to Kendal stretch of canal where it's been filled in, especially the old - and now redundant - bridges.
This one is on the little section of canal between Natland Road and the A65 where I ran, this afternoon. One of these days, I'd like to go all the way from Kendal to Glasson Dock (although not in a single run!).
