Made Of Tough Stuff

Watching birds in the garden, I thought how much more adaptable they must be to these zero temperatures than us 'higher beings'.

Looking for a little interest in the garden, I realised I'd completely overlooked the various seed-heads there are. Seeds are often made of 'tough stuff' as they go through the harshness of winter with their potential safely locked inside.

Here's a poppy seed head - hoping for plenty of blooms in a few months' time.
