Little Grebe
One of the rarer water fowl to see on the canals around us, this little grebe appeared to be alone. He had an annoying habit of diving just as I was lining up a shot and as those of you who have seen them before, they do tend to swim some distance underwater before surfacing. It was a constant effort to scan the far bank of the canal to see where it had surfaced.
It really isn't a good shot, slightly soft due to the focal length (810mm equivalent full frame) and speed of the shutter, but in the absence of any other notable images, it has to do.
I'd walked over to my Mother in Law's home to provide some support as she needs a new door and window to the utility. We'd noticed during her birthday celebrations that the frame was rotten and needed replacing and a local rep was visiting to give a quote.
