Stitches

Today has been a continuation of yesterday - online judging.

Whilst I was doing that J was stitching a little tapestry. She bought it in 2012, and then forgot about it. The pattern is fuschias, she is using appletons tapestry wool, and it will turn into a spectacles case.

At the end of the day we had just an hour to get out and enjoy our local nature reserve. There is a short boardwalk across the mini-moss within the woodland, and there were lots of small dragonflies sunning themselves on the hand rail as we walked along.

To photograph them I have learnt to use stealth. They do not seem to see slow movement. I very slowly moved towards the one in the extra and extended my arms slowly - my phone camera lens is less than two inches away from the insect. Effective, although I must have looked very odd.
