Hoghton Tower

Today we visited Hoghton Tower - between Preston and Blackburn. 
In 1617 history was made here when, during a banquet,  King James I so enjoyed a loin of beef that he knighted it 'Sir Loin'.
However we were thwarted!   Because of the Covid situation they are only open Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun.  Today was Wednesday - so it was closed....
