Bedraggled

He didn't fly far when I startled him amongst the wildflowers so I took the opportunity to take his photograph. He remained still for me as I edged progressively closer, taking a shot with each step. He looked rather unimpressed and I retreated, leaving him to shelter as best he could in the soft rain.

This image was as close as I came. Unfortunately it took a bit of work in PS to remove a dark leaf behind the bird, which from a normal distance looked like it was part of him. I also reduced the intensity of some of the competing yellow flowers.
