Sweet Dreams (are made of this)

Well over two years ago we ordered a new bed, but didn’t get a new mattress straight away as we were planning on having a lot of work done in the house and thought it best to leave it until the dust had (literally) settled. Might take three months but that’s not too long to wait, is it?
Two and a half years on and we were still waiting. Some of the work had been done but the really messy stuff hasn’t even been started yet. In the meantime, the old mattress had deteriorated further, to the point where it just wasn’t comfortable any more. Something had to give, and it wasn’t going to be my back!
We are very fortunate in Kendal in that we have a shop on the high street that sells top notch mattresses at much reduced prices - usually because they have cosmetic marks on them. Marks that you only see when changing the sheets. Marks that have no effect on the level of comfort. Marks that mean you only pay 1/2 to 2/3 of the RRP!! We’ve bought several mattresses from there during our 30 odd years living here and have never been disappointed. The great beauty is that what you see and try is actually what you will get - usually delivered within 24 hours. Definitely no waiting several weeks whilst your order comes from the factory!
Decided to push the boat out this time - 6500 springs and all natural materials. Promises to be both comfortable and cool. And if we do ever get the rest of the work done on the house, then we’ll just have to make sure we’ve got plenty of dust sheets!
But it’s definitely going to be an early night tonight!
