Malheur Wildlife Refuge

The smoke found us today!  We got an early start, but by mid morning the smoke was looming and the skies were gray. By noon we decided to call it quits and head back to Sunriver. The air quality in Sunriver is in the hazardous zone with an index over 500. That’s worse than Beijing or any city in India, but it wasn’t good in eastern Oregon either,  and we couldn’t enjoy the scenery with so much smoke. 
We saw almost everything we wanted to see and were glad we got to explore the parts of Oregon we hadn’t seen.  
Grateful for...a clear morning. A predicted change in the weather Monday.
