White Ladies Gate

I’m sitting waiting for my new glasses... and it’s been a long wait.
So I took a picture of Whiteladies Gate at the junction of Cotham and Whiteladies Road in Bristol.
Looks busy but harmless?
This used to be on the turnpike to Gloucester , Wales and the North.
And ... the route to the ferries that crossed the river Severn at Aust and Pilning.
Pretty exciting stuff?
It’s also close to the site of the old gallows and the location of the burning of three Marian Martyrs.
And.... hang on, my glasses have just arrived!
