The Last Poppy for 2020

..... probably.

Yesterday, before we went to Saltburn for lunch Guy's friends came to have a look at our garden. The partner of one of them asked me for a photograph of the red poppies in the front garden. It was very windy yesterday and again today and by the time the wind had dropped a bit there was only one red poppy remaining.

Helen is a very interesting lady. She had the idea in 2013, while selling poppies for the British Legion, that it would be great to have 'poppy flags' flying all the way down the Mall in London in November 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the 1st World War. The poppy flags flying down the Mall in 2014 never came to fruition but flags were made and all profits from buying the flag from her website go to the British Legion to support young people who have been wounded in recent conflicts.
