It’s a Gas

I have had a lot of dealings with British Gas over the last 3 months.

First of all major issues with my parents system 180 miles away. Their central heating is 45 years old and creaking, but we have been reluctant to have anything major done because of the disruption. But the recent problems have made us rethink, a breakdown over winter cannot be contemplated , especially if Covid disrupts British Gas’s performance. So major works now programmed for mid October.

And we have now had issues with our system, although miraculously the boiler kicked into action this morning. I was a bit surprised when the engineer arrived. I wore a mask. “Do you want me to wear a mask” he said. “Yes”. Not quite the procedure explained on the BG website, He couldn’t find a problem, so I am to monitor, take notes of what is happening if it stops working, and take a little video of the boiler lights.

Last Night of the Proms tonight. After all the ridiculous whipped up controversy, it will be interesting to see how its done. We’ve watched some excellent Proms in the last two weeks, albeit surreal with no audience in the cavernous space of the RAH.
