Making Memories
Today should have been an extra special Great North Run in celebration of the 40 years. Instead 17000 runners were out completing their own half marathon route across the world. K & I opted for the 9.30 start time, running a route from her house, round the streets and wagonways of north Tyneside, finishing with a two mile stretch up the coast road. It was an enjoyable run meeting quite a few others along the way and particularly those last couple of miles. No big crowds this year but we got some cheers as we finished coming down on to the front at Whitley Bay. I celebrated the end of my run in my favourite way with a cold swim in the sea before heading back to K's for lunch.
Adding to put already high step count, we walked down to Tynemouth for dinner on the beach at the deservedly award winning Rileys Fish Shack. Yum!
