Look at the state of me!!!

Another day when we had nothing to do. So another day when we walked and walked and walked. I like days when Ann has nothing to do. And do you know what?........................ she says I'm turning into a perfect pooch. We've got a really good bond together now and even my 'jumping up' is a lot better than it was.

Today I only went round the block first thing so after Ann had had breakfast I didn't bother eating mine off we went for a day out together. We walked two and a half miles to a number 26 bus stop, jumped on a no 26 bus because Ann's plan was to go to Seaton Sands and walk to Musselburgh. But the no 26 bus that we got on was going to Tranent so we got off at Prestonpans and walked along the coast to Joppa instead. That was about 5 miles.

But look at the state of me?!!! About half way into our walk I found a really nice muddy pond and as I was a bit hot, I had a wallow in it. That was OK though because when we got to Musselburgh I just went into the sea for a bit of a splash around so by the time we got to Joppa I was all clean again.

…...................And then we jumped on a No 45 bus and came home. And I gobbled up all of my breakfast and then settled down for a snooze. I'm still snoozing. Ann has put my dinner out for me but as I didn't eat my breakfast till about 3.30pm I don't want it.

…....................And is anyone else getting confused with all these rules??????? England – 6 people inside & outside up to 6 households. Scotland – 6 people inside & outside but only from
2 households (so single people with single friends can only meet one person at a time???). Wales – not sure what the indoor rules are, but 30 people can meet out doors????? How anyone is supposed to keep up with all of this, I don't know. We're just watching the news and apparently we're all now supposed to report our neighbours if they have house parties or have more than 2 households in their house. Honestly?!!! That doesn't really bode very well for good neighbourly relations does it?

Anyway Ann and her friends have a plan.............................. They can't meet up together in Scotland any more but there's nothing to stop them going to Berwick Upon Tweed in England and meeting up there for lunch.

Also while we're having a bit of a RANT, Airbnb have just issued a statement to say that in Scotland the two household rule applies so hosts won't lose their 'super host' status if they cancel bookings. This obviously won't affect our house in Cornwall because we only ever let it  out to two people. However, Ann has got no work this week as a ''meet & greeter' which is probably because no more than 2 households can now rent property in Scotland. Over the last few weeks Ann has 'meeted and greeted' 3-4 people sharing accommodation because they've had holidays abroad cancelled and have decided to have a stay cation instead. We're guessing that anyone booking a property in Scotland with more than 2 households has now had to cancel. Though how anyone can police this, we don't know???

This whole COVID thing is now totally ridiculous. Unless you keep up to date with all the daily briefings how on earth are you supposed to know what is going on? And the other thing (while we're having a RANT)...................... Yes, the cases of positive tests seem to be increasing, but (more people are being tested) that was only to be expected once the pubs/restaurants/non-essential shops opened and the kids went back to school. BUT; is the death rate increasing? It seems to us that a lot of people are being tested positive but the death rate isn't anywhere near as bad as it was a few months ago.

As far as Ann is concerned she's pretty much back down in total lock down again. She's going to a single friends house tomorrow night for dinner (2 households), but apart from that, her social diary is empty for the rest of her life.
