Hoverfly
A lovely warm, sunny day, and the 'yard was full of insects - bees, wasps (mostly on the mahonia flowers), hoverflies...
Unfortunately, now the sun is lower in the sky it reaches very little of the 'yard and then only for a short time - should have gone outside earlier to capture a hoverfly in better light.
Sunny or not, I decided, for the sake of my sanity, that the 'disk space' issue with the website needed sorting out once and for all. After struggling for an hour or so, and getting nowhere, I phoned Tom. He very kindly logged on to the cPanel website, determined what the problem was, and talked me through what to do to resolve it. Thank goodness for tech-savvy sons! Feel much happier now I know what to do and, more importantly, what not to do. It was a problem easily solved once you know how, just time consuming. But I did it! Then went on to update the website.
Scraped off a bit more wallpaper in the hall. The wall underneath has been re-plastered at some time, and there was only one layer of paper under the paint, so it was easier than the previous section.
Little time to do much else after that, apart from a little admin., and 20 minutes on the exercise bike before making tea. Spent half and hour in the 'yard in the evening watering the plants, and watching the last few house martins soaring above. They'll be flying south before long.
