Mussel harvester going into Havelock, Marlborough

As we came out of Havelock today, one of the numerous mussel harvesters was returning to port to unload.
Havelock is the "Greenshell Mussel Capital of the World"!
There are 478 marine farms that grow greenshell or green lip mussels in the Marlborough Sounds. There are approximately 65,000 tonnes of mussels harvested per year, which is 70% of the total production of greenshell mussels from New Zealand.
We also grow these mussels, but I hate them, and as my Other Half tells everyone - "My wife sells them to buy beef!"
