Solace Day 10 Paddling Along

We passed through some lovely countryside on the way to Fradley Junction. Being the weekend Fradley was busy, not just with boats but with spectators out to watch the activity around the locks. Gongoozlers, we call them.

We've seen a lot of folk on the canal using these paddle boards, a lot of them with a child sat on the front. I really worry about their safety on narrow canals with huge boats, some in the contro, or not,l of novices.

It was a lovely hot day and we moored early, 3.30ish, because we had reached our favourite place on the canal, Branston Water Park. We enjoyed our drinks on the foredeck as we caught up with the drama of F1 on snippets of news on Google. What fun it would have been to watch the most action-packed race of the season!
