Bern

Today we visited the charming city of Bern, the federal capital of Switzerland, which is crammed onto a steep-sided peninsula overlooking the River Aare.

It's beautiful cobbled streets are lined with arcade buildings, coffee shops, restaurants and stunning colourful clock towers.

This photo was taken from the rear of Bern Munster overlooking the river across the quaint roof tops.

Of course our visit would not have been complete without a hot chocolate and cake in one of the many tea rooms.
