The accidental finding

Hill Paul, from the canal

The Hill Paul building was once a clothing factory. Clients were measured in London's Savile Row for bespoke suits, then the cloth and measurements were sent by train to Stroud. The suits were made up by Gloucestershire tailors / workers before being returned by train to London.

The factory closed in 1989, and was eventually converted into flats, having been saved from demolition by the antics of some seasoned protestors. The views from the upper floors are said to be outstanding.

I had a work Zoom in the morning, followed by a trip to town to meet two people called Angela, separately. I bought enough postage stamps to post out 17 of my greetings cards brochures, plus some more envelopes. That cost me almost £25. Fortunately, as I've shown my brochures to three people in the last two days, I've had three orders, plus one web order. You can see the full range at www.helenascards.co.uk

In town, no one was social distancing. It's hard. The sun is shining, we think new socialising restrictions are about to be put into place, and I for one have no inbuilt metre-gauge, apart from when it comes to queueing.
