Common Blue

I noticed a lot of Common Blues on this morning's spaniel walk on the Downs. It seems that the tail end of the second brood has overlapped with the emergence of a third brood as there are lots of older blues (like this one) as well as very fresh looking ones. I heard yesterday that there has been a mass emergence of third brood Common Blues at Mill Hill with hundreds, possibly thousands, to be seen. I might try to get over there sometime next week to have a look.
