One Street: the residents
I wasn't going to blip today, but then I saw that Tickytocky had coincidentally blipped some feral cats, so I decided I would too. This derelict building has a population of very contented looking cats, who are often to be found basking in the sun in their narrow alleyway just off Place Cabrié. Clearly someone is keeping them well fed -- like Tickytocky's, they are pampered feral cats!
There is some sense in feeding feral cats. In Begur, there was a charity that looked after them, maintaining feeding stations around town. A woman we talked to who was involved in this said it was an effective way of keeping the cat population under control, as they had a programme of capturing and sterilising them. And being well-fed and healthy, they were less aggressive.
