"An Australian grebe" BlipBigYear

....So cute - swimming all alone - but Mum was nearby keeping an eye on Baby Australian grebe - swimming amongst the reeds at the local retention pond.

.....A pretty place for ducks and other water birds to gather, and ideally breed safely amongst the colorful reeds and bullrushes..

.....A place so quiet, and peaceful - they weren't concerned I was standing amongst the reeds not too far away...
