"Down In The Wetlands"

What is a Wetland? (We have quite a few here.)

A wetland is an area of land which is intermittently or permanently inundated by shallow water..

When stormwater passes through a wetland, it acts as a natural filter, improving water quality through biological and chemical processes.

It also provides habitat for native wildlife such as: The Little Pied Cormorant - Phalacrocorax melanoleucos - and also White Egret - Egretta alba..

A busy day down at the Wetlands...
