Goosey Lift Off

Skein after skein of Canada, and some Greylag, geese flew over us as we were walking at Fishers Green. They all seemed to be going in the direction of Holyfield Farm. Not surprising I suppose as there is a field there known as The Goosefield. These geese are residents. They don't migrate but do flock together at this time of year and fly in the late afternoon from the lakes to the surrounding fields.

I found a huge flock in a field of maize stubble. (Extras) Ollie dog and I were watching as more geese arrived to join them when a massive tractor sped up the lane. They took off as one. What an amazing sight!
