arrived

We arrived in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, to a storm. Fortunately just as we got here we got a text from the cleaner of the house to say it was ready early if we wanted to come in and to apologise for the front door mat being a little wet because the wind had blown the rain in.

We have a huge modern style house for the week looking onto the river Alde and over the flat land to the sea which is a 15 minute walk away. Dan, Lotty and Dave the dog,  arrived as it turned dark and we are now waiting for Nick and Liz to get here. If the weather stays the way it is now we will be happy in the comfort of the house although Dave is looking forward to running on the beach!

Once in Lesley didn't want to go out again but I couldn't resist driving down to the beach with the idea of taking some photos from the cover of the car. I took the first shot of the shell sculpture that way but I wasn't happy just being in the car. So out I got and thoroughly enjoyed 20 minutes on the sea front without another sole in sight. Soaked I arrived back home happy.
