soggy suffolk
I am a sundial, and I make a botch
Of what is done much better by a watch
especially on dull rainy days like today.
The weather didn't however dampen our spirits we set for a walk in a dryer, brighter spell this morning. We turned straight out of the holiday house onto the path that took us along the river bank of the Alde and across some rather wet fields heading straight for Kings Field's and the beach at the south end of Aldeburgh. We looked back and could see the house in the distance but also the dark clouds that were bringing in the next belt of rain that lasted all day.
It took us quite sometime to complete the circular walk back home, stopping for shelter and a warm twice in well organised pubs, 1 for a coffee, the other for a beer. In between some tasty takeaway snacks from Slates which were eaten in a wind shelter on the beach. We might have returned home wet, 5 miles later, but we enjoyed the day and the chats along the way. It was a day for staying in after that so the boys drove into town to get a fish and chip supper takeaway and we settled to watch The Gentleman.
Definitely a good day but hoping for dry tomorrow.
