Utter clowns, the pair of them

Today was the day of operation ant, otherwise know as the great ant / garden massacre. The garden has been awash with the damp things most of the summer, with the lawn having an increasing number of bald patches where there are ant nests. So the eldest amd I spent a couple of hours in the wind and not quite (but almost) rain digging up ant nests and liberally applying a range of 'death to all ant' potions and powders I now have. Let's hope it works. The poor lawn is an utter mess, and will take months to recover, so I really hope we have made a good dent in the problem.

What better thing to do once the outdoor chores are done, than colour your face in - they thought it was hilarious.... thankfully the pen washed off!

Today I'm grateful for:
Lovely morning chat with Gogo in Zimbabwe, always a lovely start to the day
The husband filing fown enough shelf supports for our old bookcase so that i could finally get our books unpacked and on shelves! We now either need a new bookcase, or to get rid of some books when new ones arrive as it is full!
Lovely chat with my Uncle in Arizona - its been a good day for inter-continental calls!
